    The birth record of Magdalena Schwald, the daughter of Friedrich Schwald and Anna Barbara Homberger, clearly shows that she was born in September 1806, not in August 1806, as Fred states. The exact day in September is questionable, but not the month. You can bet the South forty on this. I wonder where Fred came up with the month of August.

    Not knowing German, I have not been able to make research in Germany.

    My father: Robert Schwald: born 12 03 1925 in Colmar in France.
    His father: Francois, Eugene Schwald: born 28 12 1883 in Turckheim in France.
    His father: Fran?ois-Joseph Schwald: born 04 06 1861 in Turckheim in France.
    His father: Jean, George Schwald: born 29 11 1829 in Fischenberg Baden Germany.
    His mother: Madelaine Schwald: deceased 19 05 1844 in Kaltenbach Baden Germany.
    Her father: Frederique Schwald: deceased 19 12 1839 in Fischenberg Baden Germany

    Certain documents write Fischenberg with an S or without S!
    Would Fischenberg depend on the parish of Wies (code postal 79697) and the latter would depend on Weitenau?
    Would Kaltenbach depend on the parish of Vogelbach (postal code 79875)?
